The second last day of the season brought a couple of "agains" for us:

- again only 8 players
- again no luck in front of the opponent's goal
- again almost every opponent's shot a goal for them

The first game was against the home team KP-V/Remix. Bonus "again":

- again Remix had 18 players (next year Kolmonen?)

Let's add one more "again", shall we:

- again it took only a few seconds (18, to be precise) when it could have been already 1-0 for Remix.

I honestly don't know what to do about this. In every game, there is the kick-off and immediately, the opponent has a huge chance to score a goal. Where are we mentally? Still in bed? We do warm-up, we prepare for the games. I give quite precise tasks to the team. And then it takes 18 seconds until the ball is almost in our net. How come? Girls and ladies: I want to hear your interpretation in the next training: homework for you. Instead of the 1-0, it was "only" the first corner for Remix.

2. Siiri passes the ball to the right where Leonna moves forward and shoots, but the keeper paries the not-too-hard shot.

6. A typical 3v4 situation for our defense.

7. Veera stops an attack at the expense of a corner. The ball bounces back and a harmless shot hits Leonna from whose leg the ball distracts unluckily into our goal, 1-0.

10. A nice attack from Siiri to Sofia on the right. Pass back to Siiri, left leg shot. Keeper paries.

11. Shooting chance for Siina. To the keeper. Ball comes back. Second shooting chance for Siina. To the keeper.

12. Nice combination play. At the end, Veera passes to Siiri who lobs the ball to the goal, but misses the right post. The goal kick leads to a quick counter attack which is finished with a shot to the left corner. Pinja jumps and pushes the ball around the post. Corner. Crossball, Siiri heads it out, second crossball, Siiri heads it out.

15. The wingers don't help backwards, the defense has a short-handed situation. Veera stops the attack. Corner. No danger.

16. The midfield rushes impatiently to the ball carrier and gets tricked. The defense then doesn't attack at all, so the opponent puts the ball uninterrupted into the right corner from 16 meters, 2-0 for Remix.

18. The wingers don't help backwards, the defense has a short-handed situation. Veera stops the attack. Corner. No danger. Yes, sounds like a deja-vu. No, it's not a copy & paste mistake. Just the same problem happening as always. I'd like to see some learning process one day. Would be nice.

19. Now the wingers help backwards. Good to see that. Unfortunately, now comes the "unlucky" factor again. The defending was good, Leonna stops the attack. Corner. The ball is cleared. From 25 meters distance, a shot makes it towards the goal - but on the way it bounces to Tetti's back and while Pinja moves to the left corner (the original direction of the shot), the ball curves into the right corner, 3-0. As we say in German: If you have <10punnerusta> at your shoes, you have <10punnerusta> at your shoes. We should clean our shoes one day. ;)

23. What can I say? When you play an OK game, but have no luck in front of the opponent's goal AND get so unlucky goals like that, it's not easy to stay focussed. You can only try to make it somehow to half-time and then re-gather your mental and physical strength. Unfortunately, we weren't even that lucky. Another lucky shot for Remix after too hestitating defending and the halftime score was 4-0. This score doesn't reflect the actual state of the first half at all. But it's what we usually have to face this season - which is, after all, ONLY a learning season for us.

Second half:

33. We play much tougher towards the ball and opponent now. The defending behaviour looks much better and it is thus no wonder that the first 8 minutes are completely without any noteworthy scenes. Then, Veera's previous foot injury occurs again and she has to be substituted.

35. The first chance for Remix in the second half. A double shot, saved double by Pinja.

38. We are able to get a powerplay situation in the opponent's half: 3v2. Siina moves to the right and delivers a great crossball towards the goal. Siiri attempts a torpedo-headball, but missed the ball. That would have been a great goal.

40. After parying a shot, Pinja quickly puts a long ball to Siina who is all alone in the opponent's half. She runs up towards the goal, shoots and the keeper paries.

42. Now we have a 2v4 situation in the defense again. Shot. Pinja saves. Second shot. Crossbar.

45. Fast counter attack. Siiri passes to Siina who goes into a difficult 1v3 situation, but tricks all 3 opponents. Then she is alone in front of the goal and shoots. To the keeper.

46. After we played 20 good minutes and it looked like we could get a 0-0 in the second half, we have a late game sleepy moment. A striker is completely alone in our penalty area. Pinja saves her first shot, but cannot prevent the rebound. 5-0.

47. The heads are down now. Another attempt to fight back after a bad first half was destroyed with this fifth goal. Remix can do now what they want. Shot at the post. Well, that was probably not what they wanted, but you know what I mean.

48. We gave up now. Only Pinja keeps going and paries a lob to a corner ball. That leads to a slapstick situation when the ball bounces back and forth between players for an unexaggerated 10 times until finally someone puts it into our net. That's called "begging for a goal". 6-0.

At 49:34, the referee ends this game, leaving behind a frustrated team which definitely wasn't 6 goals worse than Remix. Remix just used their chances and we even scored twice for them, while we didn't manage to put the ball into their goal. More goalscoring training is needed.
