For to me unknown reasons, we had huge problems getting a squad together for this game day. On Friday, we had 4 players and no ride. Eventually, we got 7 players together. It was an extremely hot and dry day in Kaustinen and KP-V had for example 11 substitute players. So our expectations were very low for our two games.

First we needed to draw two unlucky players who would have to be goalkeeper. The first keeper was Ronja which was a bit lucky, because she had already helped out in the goal before. The second keeper was Sofia.

15 seconds: First chance for HBK already. Oh boy, this is a bad start.

2. Despite loud shouts from the bench (injured Veera and Emmi as huoltajat), the no. 19 is completely free in our penalty area. Like I wrote in the last game report: How does this happen all the time, again and again? No opponent should ever be free in our penalty area. Where are our players in these situations (not just physically, but mentally)? Luckily, her shot hits the post.

4. The no. 18 gets the ball centrally in the middle of the field. She moves forward. No one attacks her. So she keeps moving forward. Still no one attacking. So she enters our penalty area. No one attacks. She shoots. Ronja paries. But the rebound from the no. 19 marks the 1-0. Just like the rabbit in front of a snake, everyone was like paralysed, without being able to move.

5. First attack for us. Anette moves forward on the left and shoots. A defender blocks. First corner for us. No danger.

7. Shot at our goal. Ronja paries. Corner. Sofia kicks the ball out of the danger zone.

9. Nice pass from Ilona to Erica. Continuing to Siina on the right. She moves forward to the goalline and passes back to the goal. Just like in training. Well played. A defender blocks though and it's the second corner for us. This leads to a counter attack which Sofia manages to stop in oiur own penalty area.

11. Free kick. Ronja paries. Corner. Shot above the goal.

15. Anette moves forward again on the left wing and passes centrally to Siina. She shoots, but a defender's back is in the way.

16. A distance shot from Ilona misses the left post.

16. Another corner for us. Everyone misses the ball. Ilona grabs it on the other side, tricks her opponent and passes to Anette. Her shot is blocked and the following corner leads to a free kick for HBK.

19. Another corner for us. Headball from Ilona. Not hit properly.

20. Counter for HBK. Ronja paries. And then passes directly to the opponent. Shot. Above the goal.

23. Tohuwabohu in our defense.

24. Siina moves forward on the right and passes centrally to Erica. The keeper jumps in to fish the ball away.

Halftime.

26. Siina with a strong scene on the right wing. Unfortunately, she doesn't have enough power for her final shot and the ball ends up next to the goal.

29. Triple chance for Anette, but three incredible reflexes from the keeper. Only a corner for us.

30. Shot from Ilona from the half-right side. Blocked. Corner. Hard pass to the middle. Anette with her knee. Slightly above the goal.

31. No one from the offensive players helps backwards, our defense is outnumbered, Ronja saves the first shot, but cannot prevent the rebound, 2-0. Yet another situation like this. In almost every game we get goals like that. Once again: If we don't have the ball, all players are defenders. In modern day football no one can just stop playing and passively watching what the defense is doing. That's not enough, even if it is hot. Defense comes first! We have by far the most against-goals of all teams. Like, double as many as the second worst defense-team. That's way too much and this is something that I want you to learn immediately. Don't watch passively what is happening. Always be active.

32. Siina with a great moment on the right, but her pass to the middle is missed first by Erica and then by Anette. No luck today.

36. 20 meters distance shot into the left corner, 3-0. Now the heads go down. The power is gone and the referee doesn't allow a short drinking break.

37. Ilona tricks her opponent and shoots. But the keeper paries. That's the difference: Both teams have chances, but we don't score.

38. Ilona lobs the ball to the goal, but misses the right post.

40. We play a double triangle on the left. Very nice football. Anette lobs the ball to the goal, but it flies above the crossbar. I have to say that in every game we have a couple of excellent football situations. With time, we will get more and more of those while - hopefully - making less and less mistakes.

41. Again, the team is completely passive and watches while the opponent attacks our goal. The first shot hits the post, but again the rebound goes to HBK and they score the 4-0. Our reaction time is lacking.

43. Tetti passes from the left to Ilona in the middle and she forwards the ball to the right to Siina. From a free position, she shoots too hastily above the goal. Very nice football again.

44. Ilona with a distance shot from 19 meters flat to the goal. A few cm too far to the left.

45. Another shot, another goal, 5-0. Basically, every attack in the second half leads to a goal for HBK. They are not doing more than necessary and setting some attacking spikes once in a while to crush us.

45. We on the other side are just not able to put the ball into the net. Now we have 4 (!) players in HBK's penalty area, but it still doesn't suffice to score.

45. Ilona with a back-heel trick and a shot. Paried.

46. Freekick Anette. Paried.

46. And then it happens. After a pass from Ilona, Anette scores the 5-1.

50. For one last time, we leave the central area in front of our goal completely open and HBK scores the 6-1.

All in all, we had many good scenes in this game, but we have one big problem:
